KASMED INFO
Thank you for visiting the Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine's website.
The Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine was founded in July 1993 as "The Korean Academy for Sleep and Psychophysiology," with the first general assembly and academic conference held at Korea University's Inchon Memorial Hall.
The name of the society was changed to "Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine (KASMED)" in September 2002 to reflect its role as a major academic society in the field of sleep medicine.
Since July 1995, the Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine has been the only sleep medicine-related society approved by the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences.
With members from many professions, the Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine has been trying to develop sleep medicine.
Members include doctors that treat sleep disorders in various clinical departments such as psychiatry, pulmonary internal medicine, otolaryngology, pediatric and adolescent medicine, neurology, cardiology, family medicine, and dentistry.
In addition, sleep medicine researchers from the brain sciences and polysomnography technicians are also taking part.
The two annual academic conferences in the spring and fall, as well as the one annual sleep medicine education course, are extremely beneficial to sleep medicine treatment and research.
We're also offering CME course that gives you a point that you may use to get your polysomnography certification in Korea.
On May 1, 1994, the inaugural issue of Sleep Medicine and Psychophysiology, an established academic journal, was published, and since then, it has been published twice a year. In Korea, it has established itself as a leading journal in the field of sleep medicine.
In addition, Chronobiology in Medicine, a four-times-a-year international academic journal published by the Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine, was published in March 2019 and was indexed in SCOPUS in 2021.
The general populace is becoming more interested in sleep.
The sleep sector is likewise fast developing in step with the digital age.
Along with the advancement of sleep medicine, the Korean Academy of Sleep Medicine will work to improve the sleep health of Koreans.
Thank you very much.
